Satie Walker
15:37
Thanks for addressing that right off the bat, you’re appreciated! Good luck with tonight’s meeting! See you the 24th!
Dom Rafiti
26:31
I love that graphic
Sandy Stoltzfus
29:27
Agreed, Dom. It's awesome!
Meghan D
30:05
Are you following PSD with remote learning announced today?
Elizabeth Timpe
32:35
Casey addressed immediately that no they are not following PSD they are planning on going forward with the in person school.
Meghan D
33:28
Thanks, I came in late😉
Stacy Armatas
33:31
will you utilize outdoors as much as possible for learning while weather is nice ?
jeff & jade lasher
34:07
good plan!
Sandy Stoltzfus
34:09
Stacy, absolutely. Lots of time outside for recess, lunch and teachers will be able to take their classes outside for a lesson.
Lia Mills
34:31
Can we get some better guidance on what distinguishes a "pattern" from a "picture" for dress-code-compliant masks?
Brooke & Alec Montelongo
34:35
That will be great for the antsy kindergarteners :)
Sandy Stoltzfus
35:35
Hi Lia, Mr. Churchill will address the masks in more detail in the presentation.
Brooke & Alec Montelongo
37:25
I notice this is recording, will we be able to revisit this presentation if we have to take off early?
Sandy Stoltzfus
37:57
Brooke and Alec, yes. I will make sure to send you a link. Thanks for stopping in.
Brooke & Alec Montelongo
38:08
Perfect. Thank you so much!!!!!
Valerie Schroder
38:34
Can kids bring their own hand sanitizer and soaps with them or will there be an abundant supply in all classes?
jaccrenshaw
39:39
Can everyone mute their microphone?
Sandy Stoltzfus
39:46
Valerie, there will be an abundant supply, but children are welcome to bring their own. We will facilitate regular hand washing and hand sanitizing.
Kitty Brown
44:40
Did GPS provide documentation or links for the validation studies?
Sandy Stoltzfus
45:32
Hi Kitty, I believe you can find that information on their website.
Michael and Tracy Braiman
46:43
How will the bathrooms be monitored for distancing?
Eleanor Hines
47:56
what is the current situation regarding bus rides?
Sandy Stoltzfus
48:10
Students will be in masks and we will only allow a few students to enter the restroom at a time, the number of students permitted in the restroom will be based on the size of the bathroom.
Sandy Stoltzfus
48:34
Hi Eleanor, Bussing will be discussed thoroughly later in the presentation.
April Harrison
49:47
Will WHolesome Food Services be used at Liberty this year?
M W
50:05
Why would we not start 100% masks, 100% of the time then see what happens here, and elsewhere?
Sandy Stoltzfus
50:20
Yes, we still plan to use Wholesome Foods.
Stacy Driskell
50:53
I was also wondering why kids wouldn't be required to wear masks in the classroom.
Chris Brown
51:15
Agreed
Adrienne
51:19
Same
Dom Rafiti
51:54
Plexi-glass shields. Casey talked about it a little while ago
Anuja Riles
52:03
Agree. Efficacy of shields is minimal.
M W
52:15
toys
Patrick
52:16
Yes, why not wear masks all the time? I understand non-verbal cues, but shouldn't we be as safe as possible?
Jodi Fraser
52:20
You can have your kids wear a mask the whole day if you feel more comfortable.
Zion Farrell
52:32
I’m with Jodi
Chris Brown
53:12
My kid’s mask protects your kid, not vice versa.
Amy Stump
53:18
can students continue to wear their mask at their desk?
Meghan D
53:23
agreed, Jodi
Anuja Riles
53:26
Agree with Chris
Adrienne
53:27
Yes Chris.
Patrick
53:33
3' apart desks, and no masks?
Sandy Stoltzfus
54:01
We would love to answer your questions regarding our county approved plan to allow students to remove masks when they are at their desks during the live Q&A at the end. Students will certainly be permitted to keep their masks on.
Adrienne
54:26
Will you all be able to send the presentation via email so if we missed a portion of the meeting we can read what we missed.
Sandy Stoltzfus
55:08
Yes, Adrienne. Please send me an email so I have your last name and I'll be happy to send you a copy.
Patrick
55:28
If a student/family starts the year online, then becomes comfortable with this plan, will they be allowed to join the classroom in person?
Kelsie Furst
56:17
Thank you so much to the administration. This is the most common sense and data-driven approach that we’ve seen in just about any institution so far this year!
Sandy Stoltzfus
56:25
Patrick, yes. Families do not need to commit to remote learning.
Anuja Riles
56:35
Also if a student has two working parents, can a student complete online attendance after hours?
Valerie Schroder
57:39
Agree with Kelsie
Kenslee McNeil
57:45
Absolutely, Kelsie Furst!!! So thankful to send my kids to this amazing school!!!
Sandy Stoltzfus
57:59
Anuja, please contact Mr. Churchill or me to discuss your needs.
Ashlyn Eyden
58:34
Agree with Kelsey, feeling so blessed to be a part of the Liberty family!
Demi Smith
59:32
Agreed!
Betsy Dean
01:01:48
Casey and Sandy, I know that you have not made these decisions lightly. I am so thankful for every hard decision you have made. Despite knowing not everyone will be happy, you need to know how grateful we are to be in this school and happy we are with this plan. Thank you.
Patty Bowers
01:04:28
very thorough plan. thank you Liberty administration. well done! 👍🏼
April Harrison
01:04:29
What happens when a student forgets or loses their mask?
M W
01:05:24
Your role is impossible. Thank you for giving it your best effort.
iPhone
01:05:54
just clarifying: kids who stay home because they are sick do not have to attend online school, right? If kids have to stay home because they are quarantined but are not feeling, ill they should attend school online?
Ashlyn Eyden
01:06:14
If there are ways for us to volunteer remotely until we can be in the building, please let us know!
Sandy Stoltzfus
01:06:19
April, we anticipate masks will be forgotten on occasion or even soiled. We will ask parents to send extra masks to be kept at school and we will also have single use masks for students when needed. It's also a great idea to have extra masks in the car because masks will need to be worn when entering the building.
Zion Farrell
01:06:51
Or after school hours volunteering?
Katie and Mark Shea
01:07:05
What about selling liberty masks with our logo on them and all funds can go to the school?
Kelsie Furst
01:07:15
great idea!
Sandy Stoltzfus
01:07:35
If a student is out sick for a day, they will not have to participate remotely. Per county guidance, students with symptom’s, even mild ones, should remain home. They suggest that children be seen by their provider for a COVID-19 rule out.
jeff & jade lasher
01:07:49
great idea
Jenny McElwain
01:08:01
Liberty masks sound like a great idea!
jaccrenshaw
01:08:23
Thank you all for your hard work! You guys are amazing!
Patrick
01:08:33
Good idea on the Liberty masks.
Heather Winchell
01:09:16
When will we know whether our kiddo could be A or B group? (if phase 2 goes into effect)
Geri Athearn
01:10:10
anything that is not published by the CDC shou;ld be taken with a grain of salt!
Sandy Stoltzfus
01:10:48
Heather, we will announce the groups if we need to go into plan B.
Lia Mills
01:11:51
I'd be in support of Liberty masks! Thank you administration and teachers for your hard work through all of this. We definitely attend a wonderful school!!!
Sandy Stoltzfus
01:12:33
Liberty masks have been discussed, the down side is that people are very particular about preference, style and fit. We will continue to discuss this great idea.
Lia Mills
01:14:19
Reminder to please cover dress code specifics for masks. Pattern v. Picture
Ashley
01:15:00
I don’t want my child to wear masks at all honestly.
Courtney Chunn
01:15:10
kids tend to touch their faces more when wearing masks, spreading more germs
Ashley
01:15:17
I think it’s a good compromise.
christian fogstad
01:15:19
Agree with MW
Betsy Dean
01:15:20
I agree Ashley.
Jenny McElwain
01:15:55
Can we request Group A or B. I help another family with afterschool care. Also, if we do the groups, we need both students in the same group to be successful in home online school learning
Zion Farrell
01:16:26
I’m not in support of my kids wearing a mask all day. Difference of opinion. I think this is a great compromise.
Aimee’s iPhone
01:16:43
agree
Sean Cummings
01:16:57
Thank you both administration teachers
Kenslee McNeil
01:17:00
Agree.
Kelsie Furst
01:17:21
Casey is right about how unhygienic kids are with masks
Valerie Schroder
01:17:24
Children don't wear masks well. It's also so much better for concentration in the younger population
Delaney Friesen
01:17:49
agree. I like the compromise. my youngest gets really anxious wearing a mask for longer than an hour which I’m afraid will distract form the learning.
Ashlyn Eyden
01:18:31
As someone who is hearing impaired, I echo Casey’s emphasis on being able to hear and see their teachers speak.
Elizabeth Timpe
01:18:36
Thank you Casey and Sandy, you have balanced this well and listened to both sides. You are amazing! Govenor polis even says above 11 and up for masks!
karla leduc
01:18:56
Is there any obligation for a family to let the teacher/school know if our child is being tested or do we just notify if/when there is a positive test? Additionally, do we only find out if a student in our child’s classroom tests positive and not if someone in the cohort or class is out sick/potentially positive? Just curious! Thanks for ALL you are doing. It is so appreciated!
Anuja Riles
01:19:55
Are parents required to report if they test positive?
M W
01:20:04
Thank you for that, Casey and Sandy and for confirming that Larimer has indeed approved Liberty's plan.
Demi Smith
01:20:12
Liberty Team, as always a very balanced, reasonable, common sense plan for a no-win situation. We are so appreciative of the hard work, and I'm sure countless hours you have spent on this. So very thankful.
karla leduc
01:20:57
Thanks, Sandy!
Elizabeth and Aaron Huffsmith
01:21:18
Will students remain in their classrooms for Latin and Art?
Sandy Stoltzfus
01:22:13
Students will go to their Latin and art classes, remaining in their cohorts, with three-sided sneeze guards, and cleaning between classes.
Jenny McElwain
01:22:32
Will there be any guidance on children using cameras for schooling online? It seems like kids engage better when the cameras are on, but connectivity issues sometime are in play. It seemed like younger kids were on camera more, and it was less so as the kids were older.
Elizabeth and Aaron Huffsmith
01:22:37
Thank you
Vanessa Cullers
01:24:14
With the masks coming on and off throughout the day will the students be instructed on how to safely remove and put their masks back on?
Sandy Stoltzfus
01:24:18
Jenny, we have published remote learning expectations. We are expecting them to keep their cameras on.
Jenny McElwain
01:24:32
Great, thanks!
Chad Green
01:25:44
Is school providing wipes for the desks and hand sanitizer or do we load up our kiddos locker for them to use?
jaccrenshaw
01:26:33
Camo?
Chad Green
01:26:49
Tie dye?
Cassie Geyser
01:26:58
floral?
Sandy Stoltzfus
01:27:09
Chad, we will be providing hand sanitizer and requiring regular hand washing, but feel free to send them with extra.
Andrew Allen
01:27:42
for the mask question on coming off/on, can you address the youngest (kindergarten). We currently have mask styles that tie and our kiddo gets help with htat.
Deb
01:27:44
Can the mask be the gater style if it has a filter pocket and is not just a single layer?
Chad Green
01:27:45
wonderful thank you we will do that
Kenslee McNeil
01:28:05
There has obviously been considerable financial investment to prepare for this year, how is LCS fairing financially?
Valerie Schroder
01:28:08
Do you want masks donations for when kids forget theirs, etc.?
Nicole & Kristian Ranstrom
01:28:44
Also, we're not the only school opening in August. My daughter's private school is also going full-time. So there will be a few schools together in this so we are not in this alone.
Sandy Stoltzfus
01:28:48
The guidance is that children should be able to put their mask on and remove it without help. I suggest looking for non-tie options. I know it's hard to find a mask that fits well.
Chad Green
01:28:53
Will the school nurse have special training for this?
Sandy Stoltzfus
01:30:21
Our school nurse is in regular contact with the state and county to ensure she has the most updated information and training.
Sandy Stoltzfus
01:33:36
Valerie, thank you for the offer. We have secured many extra one-time use masks, but we'll keep the community posted if we need donations.
Johannes Janet Paraan
01:34:07
Will there be a modification in school policy regarding absences allowed?
Jana Kraich
01:35:26
When a sibling of a student’s class is sick or quarantined will the student or student’s parents be notified?
Meli Chan
01:35:45
Sorry probably I miss the answer earlier, if we choose remote learning, how to do the attendance? Should we call every morning?
Sandy Stoltzfus
01:36:13
Mask patterns that are approved, camo, tie-dye, flowers often are more of a repeated picture, but if it's a more abstract pattern that should be fine. We don't want to have to evaluate the appropriateness of the pictures, so patterns - lines, stripes, swirls, camo, solid colors are best. Also gators are approved.
jaccrenshaw
01:36:39
Thank you
Adrienne
01:36:55
